The Australian violinist Madeleine Easton is a rising star on the international stage known for her versatility and expertise in both the baroque and modern world of violin playing. She has performed at the highest level both in Europe and in Australia, appearing as both soloist, concertmaster and director of some of the worlds most respected ensembles and orchestras.

Born in Sydney, she showed exceptional talent at a very early age and has gone on to become one of Australias most exciting young musical talents, having been broadcast on radio and television both in Europe and Australia.

Throughout her career, her desire to combine period and modern playing has shown her to be one of the most versatile and talented violinists of her generation and has led to opportunities for playing with many wonderful and varied ensembles world wide.

Launching her recording career, she begins with the lesser known but wonderful complete Khandoshkin Solo Sonatas, championing the late 18th and early 19thc style of violin playing. Her next project will be to record the complete works for violin and piano by Schubert with Daniel Grimwood, allowing her to continue to explore and champion the early 19thc style of violin playing.

Madeleine is concert master of one of the UK's most prestegious period instrument orchestras, the Hanover Band and continues to perform with them as both leader and soloist throughout 2010. She will be travelling back to Australia to guest lead the Australian Brandenburg Orchestras later this year as well as performing with the renowned Australian pianist Simon Tedeschi.

Her special talent of combining both period and modern styles of violin playing has led her to form a special relationship with the Royal Academy of Music in London where she regularly teaches and directs the Baroque Orchestra, the Bach Cantata Series and the Modern Instrument Period Orchestra.
